Myi by Nominum

Nominum is a small internet company in Redwood City, CA. The company created a product that would allow families to control the content of their home internet — literally decide what kind of content should be accessible for their families online at any time of day. The goal was to do this through a suite of family-friendly apps that interfaced with the domain name system lookup of their web browser, their internet service provider, cable modem, and most importantly, their family members. My job was to make this all sound fun and easy.

UX writing

These are screens from the app center for Myi. I wrote all of the app preview text, and the content on the second, redesigned version on the right. We A/B tested these two layouts to see which one users enjoyed more. The designer and I collaborated on the app icon designs, original illustrations, and overall content strategy for these pages.

MAGAZINE EDITORIAL

To bring the brand to potential users in a way that was more accessible, we created a lifestyle magazine. I wrote two stories, and contributed illustrations as well as a games page with a crossword puzzle and word search.

direct mail marketing copy

To help users connect with how they could use this product, we created direct mail pieces with testimonials. I wanted to make sure that the voice and tone sounded familiar and connected to people with a situation they could identify with in their daily lives. I wrote the copy and designed these pieces in Adobe Illustrator. That little oyster illustration is mine too.
